Mother: the Pole Star of our Lives
"Maa", this term is enough to evoke a cluster of feelings, that of warmth and compassion.
A mother's love exceeds all limitations, and her love is of an unconditional nature.
She bore us all nine months with so much care without ever complaining of the difficulties that she faced. The effort to keep us in good health is still the same.
Her contribution to our life is immense.
She has sacrificed her precious time, effort and freedom only to provide us with the very best.
Can we ever repay her debt? No, never but we must as children, make an effort to work towards their well-being.
It is indeed sad to know that children nowadays don’t look after their parents.
Nothing can be worse than children adopting wicked ways to mistreat their families.
We must always remember that whenever we got sick, our mother was there by our side serving us relentlessly.
A mother’s caressing hand is all to cure us from any disease. An embrace, a kiss from a mother is enough to get us warm.
Shouldn’t we commit our lives to them? Isn’t it our moral obligation and responsibility to serve them back with utmost care and devotion?
She is not simply a representation of feminity, she is also fire.
Beating all odds, climbing rough terrains, she has managed to provide us a place no lesser than heaven.
A shield that does not collapse under pressure, she embodies power and protection.
When bad events strike us without any prior warning, it’s our mother’s embrace that gives us the power to fight with them.
Can we measure the profoundness of our mother’s heart?
No, it's boundless, it’s paramount.
A soft-hearted mother is the one we rely on when we have to convince others of our needs or wants.
We shouldn’t be misusing such privileges because at the end of the day it is our mothers who will be answerable for our actions.
Those who are devoid of their mother’s love always crave for one.
So, if you have a caring mother, consider yourselves lucky and take good care of her.
Make sure that she doesn’t leave a morsel of food for her after having fed the entire family.
Do not call yourselves busy and find excuses only to avoid her.
Give her attention, have a conversation and pay heed to her thoughts or advice as they are invaluable.
Do not ignore her calls. She never ignored you when you posed her your countless questions as a kid.
Surprise her by gifting flowers, cards or cooking her best meal.
However, make sure you are not burdening your mother through over caring.
This will limit their freedom as you are indirectly asserting yourselves over them.
So, make sure they have a voice and complete freedom.
Remember it’s never late for mothers to reignite their passion for any activity or hobby. Encourage or support them when they make a decision.
Stand by them even if the entire family disparages her opinions because she was always there when you needed her the most.
Your responsibility towards your parents is irrespective of gender. Sons and daughters equally must make an effort to look after them when they are old.
Shifting responsibilities and blaming one another won’t do any good.
Don’t hurt your mother’s sentiments and separate her from family.
Do not wound your mother’s feelings by saying something vile or cruel.
In case, there is an argument, it’s better to be quiet and let your mother have a say.
When the right moment comes, she will approach you and shower you with kisses.
Mothers do tend to feel guilty and compassionate once their anger calms down.
A popular quote by Rudyard Kipling says, "God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers".
How apt a description can be to define mothers!
A mother is a representative of the universal and divine power called Shakti.
Just as we worship Gods and Goddesses, we can be reverent towards our mothers by seeking blessings from them.
The hand that caresses our heads and prays for our fulfillment opens up limitless possibilities for us.
But, truly speaking describing a mother is next to impossible as she is a paragon of the highest good that ever existed.
